Can someone for the love of god bring Ronan O’Gara home.

Racing 92 were schooled today by an impressive Munster team and Ronan O’Gara knows it. The former Munster playmaker spoke to Sky Sports today following his side’s heavy defeat in the Champions Cup and he was as honest as they come in a telling interview.

Rather than try and make excuses about his side having a hangover after such an impressive season last year, the Corkman was brutally honest about his team’s performance, critically analysing their performance in almost every facet of the game.

He stated that his side were simply not good enough, noting their fitness levels are not up to scratch, even questioning the French side’s recruitment policy after they were beaten off the pitch in almost every position. O’Gara said in hindsight their preparation was clearly not up to scratch.

When asked about the Munster man in him, and what he thinks the late Anthony Foley would have thought about his the Irish province’s performance, O’Gara was visibly upset, saying he still hasn’t quite come to terms with referring to him in the past tense.

With everything that has happened over the last few months and his earlier comments, you get a sense that O’Gara suddenly feels very lonely in France. Not to take away from what he has achieved in France, he’s been magnificent over the last few years, but with everything that has happened, you get the sense that ROG would love to be a part of the current set-up once more.

If not to be a part of the amazing run Munster are on, and the wonderful bond that has been restored with the fans, but to be around his Munster faithful as he continues to try and come to terms with the death of his late friend.
