Watch: Jerry Flannery Gives A Fascinating Insight Into Munster’s Extraordinary Season

What an incredible season.

If we told you this time last year that Munster would be gearing up for a home Champions Cup quarter final this weekend, you probably would have had a right laugh at us.

The two-time European champions have absolutely transformed themselves this season and in quite remarkable circumstances. The southern province were suddenly struck down by the death of their head coach Anthony Foley back in October but instead of letting that bring them down, they have used it as a catapult to potential greatness.

Since Foley’s death, Jerry Flannery is the only man remaining in the current senior set-up that was part of the famous 2006 side. The former Munster and Ireland hooker, who was brought into the coaching set-up by Foley, has been reflecting on their amazing season with Sky Sports ahead of this weekend’s clash with Toulouse.

If you look at something like the Glasgow game, those players, that must have been one of the toughest weeks of their lives. For them to go out and have everyone watch them and study them in that game. Everyone in rugby wanted to know how they would respond. Then to see how they did was incredible.

A fascinating insight, and well worth a watch.
