Watch: James O’Connor Brings Fan To Tears With Wonderful Gesture
Say what you want about O’Connor but this is top class.
James O’Connor has endured a difficult few months. The Toulon utility back set his sights on returning home to Australia to try and work his way back into Michael Cheika’s plans in time for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, but found himself in trouble with the law.
O’Connor and former All Black Ali Williams were caught in Paris buying cocaine on the street by police. Williams got the brunt of it, but O’Connor was slapped with a fine, and immediately dropped by Toulon.
It was also announced that his contract would be not renewed and hopes of a return to Super Rugby and the Wallabies look to be gone. O’Connor is yet to find a new club for next season, with a move to England his most viable option.
Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal probably won’t miss him at Toulon next season, but this young fan certainly will. A moment of sheer class from O’Connor.
