Heroes.

Ireland has produced some fantastic teams over the years. They have lifted Triple Crowns, Six Nations titles and Grand Slams but this squad will go down in history for a very special reason. 111 years Ireland waited, many teams tried and failed, but this current crop of players finally broke the curse.

On Saturday Ireland defeated the mighty All Blacks, who were at the time on a record-breaking eighteen match winning streak. Joe Schmidt’s men bagged five tries in a huge 40-29 win at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

Tries from Jordi Murphy, CJ Stander, Conor Murray, Simon Zebo and Robbie Henshaw ensured this current crop of player’s will be remembered as the first Ireland men’s senior team to finally defeat New Zealand.

Up next for Ireland is a home clash with Canada at the Aviva on Saturday, before taking on the All Blacks again and then Michael Cheika’s Wallabies. Both those games will also be in Dublin at the Aviva.

The Irish heroes arrived in Dublin today following the famous win and no doubt there was a few sore heads after the weekend’s celebrations.
