Check out this gigantic collision involving Mathieu Bastareaud and Levani Botia from today’s game between Toulon and La Rochelle.
Bastareaud took the ball on a full pace as his side charged out of their own 22, knocking out Botia absolutely cold. The Frenchman immediately became concerned with his opponent, and looked to ensure that he would not swallow his tongue before carrying on with the action.
A huge fend from the monstrous centre but he deserves huge credit for acting so quickly to ensure the opposing player was not seriously hurt. Let’s hope Johnny Sexton doesn’t see this- it might bring back some not so fond memories.
