Watch: All Blacks Scrumhalf TJ Perenara Brilliantly Schools Referee In Super Rugby Game
This is why the All Blacks are the best in the world.
A lot was made this year at the Six Nations in relation to England’s James Haskell and Dylan Hartley seemingly not fully understanding the rules of the game in their clash with Italy.
Italy came up with some clever ruck tactics that seemed to completely catch the English lads off guard, resulting in one of the best sound bytes of the year with Roman Poite telling the duo he’s a ‘ref not a coach.’
When you’re an All Black however, you know the rules of the game so well- you do the schooling as proven by scrumhalf TJ Perenara. The Hurricanes star was called back by the TMO in their clash with Reds following an apparent try.
Referee Angus Gardner however seemingly forget what was to happen next when the try was disallowed, with Perenara schooling him on the laws of the game. Gardner ruled it was a scrum for the Reds when it was in fact a penalty for the Hurricanes.
To his credit Gardner was humble enough to recognise his own mistake and accept the correction from the All Blacks nine.
