Wasps Boss Dai Young On That Absolute Howler By Willie Le Roux

Just put the bloody ball down.

Wasps coach Dai Young was lefting rueing what could have been after Willie Le Roux’s absolute howler against Leinster at the Aviva on Saturday.

The Springbok star we left with a clear run in after a simply sensational break by Kurtley Beale, who carved up the Leinster defence in one sweeping run, but fluffed the chance with an over the top dive for the try line.

The score would have put Wasps within a point of Leinster with 25 minutes on the clock and could have sent the game in a completely different direction.

“Just put the ball down. It is as simple as that. You get the same points for putting the ball on the floor as a big dive,” Wasps boss Dai Young said.
“It is disappointing when you create something that should be seven points. Simple as that. I certainly don’t want to focus on that as the reason why we lost. That would be far too easy.
“We still had 55 minutes left in the game, still gave them 14 points after that which meant we went into half-time with a mountain to climb.
“It was a factor, But, I certainly don’t think it was the biggest factor. We just have to look at ourselves. We weren’t accurate and made far too many mistakes.”

Would the score have made much of a difference? We’ll never know. What an absolute howler all the same.
