Warren Gatland Reveals His Selection Plan For The Lions Next Game

Cleaning house.

The Lions opened up their tour of New Zealand with a win over the Provincial Barbarians, but it was far from impressive.

While the players haven’t had much time to prepare and jet lag is no doubt still fresh in their bodies and minds, a lot of players will come away from Whangarei today disappointed with their performance in the famous red shirt.

To make matters worse most of today’s players will have to wait until next Saturday against the Crusaders to right their opening game wrongs. Head coach Warren Gatland has revealed that he will go with an entirely new XV for Wednesday’s game agains the Blues.

It should be noted however that the Lions boss says this was the plan all along, regardless of today’s performance. Gatland says the plan is to get everyone a start over the next three games.

“Fifteen. The plan is everyone gets a start in the first three games, and I’ve been continually saying that.” Gatland said.

Lets hope the next starting line-up can get out of the blocks much quicker.
