Wales’ injury problems looks set to continue.

Rob Howley is already without Gethin Jenkins and Dan Lydiate for the tournament and now could be without Toby Faletau after the Bath back-row suffered another injury setback while playing for his club.

Faletau suffered another knee injury and faces a race against time to make the Six Nations opener against Italy after already missing the majority of Wales’ autumn series with medial ligament damage.

The Lions star came off the bench in the final match of the international series against South Africa, but it has emerged the number eight has picked up another issue with the same knee, during Bath’s league defeat to Wasps on Christmas Eve.

A recovery time of four to six weeks has been set for Faletau’s return. Wales open their Six Nations campaign against Italy on February 5.
