Wales & Lions Star Announces His Retirement

Former Wales and Lions scrumhalf Mike Phillips has announced his will hang up his boots at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old earned 94 caps for his country, as well as five for the British and Irish Lions, playing pivotal role in both the 2009 and 2013 tours, before retiring from international rugby in 2015.

He began his career in Llanelli before joining Cardiff Blues in 2005, he went to the Ospreys in 2007 before heading to France and playing for Bayonne in 2011.

Two years later he moved to Racing 92 and now plays for Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership.

Phillips will no doubt go down in history as one of the best nines to have played the game. We wish him the very best in retirement.
