These Simon Zebo Comments Will Cheer Up Munster Fans Today

Munster will live to fight another day.

Almost 50,000 Munster fans descended up the Aviva yesterday, only to go home heartbroken as a result of a really clinical display by Saracens. It was a tough pill to swallow, but many lessons were learnt.

This crop of Munster players will come away better from yesterday’s game. They now know just how far off the mark they are from teams like Saracens, and will go back to the drawing board ahead of next season.

Simon Zebo echoed this in his post-match interview yesterday.

“I think we’re at the start of a period together with this new squad we have and we’re very excited.
“Today was really, really disappointing and hard to take, as of now, but we know that there’s a bright future with this squad. We said it on the pitch there afterwards that we weren’t going to let this be the full-stop and we’re really going to drive on as a collective and make sure our future is bright.”
“There’s still a lot to play for in the season. Our goal at the start of the season was to be fighting for titles come the end of it. We were one step away from it [a final] today but we’re still in with a fighting chance of winning silverware at the end of it.”

Munster’s new journey is only beginning. Those who were part of the last one will tell you- it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
