There’s Some Really Good News For Ireland Despite All Blacks Loss

It’s not all bad news for Ireland.

Next Spring, World Rugby will confirm the seedings for the 2019 World Cup. Ireland currently sit in fifth position, one spot away from the coveted top four which would see them gain a hugely favourable spot at the 2019 Rugby World Cup should they be there come seeding time.

They may have lost last night, but so did the once mighty Springboks, who were shockingly overturned by Conor O’Shea’s Italy. As a result, South Africa are now expected to drop in the rankings with Ireland leap-frogging them.

A win against Australia and a good Six Nations should see Ireland in a very favourable position next year for the draw.
