Some of the world’s very best players have called the English Premiership home over the years.
The Daily Telegraph recently ran a poll with their fans to see who are the top 10 best overseas signings in English Premiership history.
Here’s the list in full.
1. Nick Evans (Harlequins)
The former All Black has been ever present for Harlequins since signing after the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Plays his final game tomorrow, with his performance at the Stoop on Friday proving he can still turn it on in a flash.
2. Jacques Burger (Saracens)
The former Namimbian international is one of the finest back-rows to have ever graced the game.
3. Schalk Brits (Saracens)
The happiest man in world rugby has played over 200 times for Saracens and is one of the most dynamic hookers in history.
4. Marcos Ayerza (Leicester)
The Argentinian prop recently retired from the game but will go down as one of the finest front-rows in Premiership history.
5. Martin Castrogiovanni (Leicester)
The Italian prop played a huge role in Leicester’s four Premiership titles. A giant of the game, who is still fondly remembered to this day.
6. George Smith (Wasps)
The legendary Wallaby back-row played just one season for Wasps, but what a season it was. 37 years-old now and still playing Super Rugby with the Reds.
7. Va’aiga Tuigamala (Wasp & Newcastle)
The league convert was an absolute monster will ball in hand.
8. Bruce Reihana (Northampton)
The former Northampton skipper will link up with Pat Lam next season as skills coach, but will forever be remembered as a legend Franklin’s Gardens.
9. Trevor Leota (Wasps)
Regarded as one of the best hookers in world rugby on his day.
10. Pat Howard (Leicester)
The Australian centre won plenty of silverware with Leicester both as a player and a coach.
