The RBS Six Nations Has Beaten The NFL & FIFA World Cup With This Phenomenal Statistic
This is quite sensational.
The Six Nations has beaten both the 2014 FIFA World and the NFL in a report issued by UEFA that reveals it is the best attended sporting event in the world.
The report from European football’s governing body discovered that an average of 72,000 people attended Six Nations matches in 2015, compared to 68,400 in the NFL that year and just below 53,600 at the 2014 World Cup.
Rugby once again makes it into the top 5, with the 2015 Rugby World Cup coming in at fourth on the list, with an average of 51,621 attendees per game. The Premier League is way down in 10th position, while last year’s European Championship comes in at an impressive 5th.
The Six Nations may only have 15 games each year, which no doubt help its case, but for it come in at number one, just shows the growth of rugby in recent years and just how popular a sport it has become.
Rugby is on the rise, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down.
