The Latest Prognosis On Jamie Heaslip Does Not Sound Good
Jamie Heaslip was left of Leinster’s Champions Cup squad yesterday as he continues to struggle with injury.
The Ireland number eight hasn’t played since picking up a back injury in the Six Nations this year ahead of the final round win over England. Heaslip has been out of action now for over six months, and was initially slated for return at the start of the PRO14 season.
However, the situation with his back has regressed with Heaslip admitting last week he doesn’t know when he will return. Leinster shared a similar story yesterday, with a further update from head coach Leo Cullen today sounding rather bleak.
According to Cullen, Heaslip may require another operation on his back. The 33-year-old has been hugely fortunate when it comes to injuries throughout his career, and you have to feel for him. Hopefully we haven’t see the last of him. He definitely deserves to finish his career on a high note after giving so much for club and country over the years.
