Tadhg Beirne Has Made A Decision On His Future

Munster bound.

Former Leinster lock Tadhg Beirne will join Munster next season after turning down a contract offer with Scarlets, their head coach Wayne Pivac revealed at this morning’s PRO14 Champions Cup launch.

The talented second-row has been one of the star performers in the PRO12/14 over the last couple of seasons, and has aspirations to play for Ireland.

We’ve moved on, we’re looking at another second row to replace Tadhg,” Pivac told The42.
“He won’t be with us next year, we’ve had that conversation. Obviously sad to see him go because he’s been great for us but if it doesn’t work out for him in Ireland then we’ll be happy to have him back at the drop of a hat.
“We tried to keep him and we put a very good contract in front of him but it’s not about the money for Tadhg. It’s about the opportunity to play for his country and I respect that.”
Beirne is seen a perfect candidate to replace Donnacha Ryan in the long-term for both Munster and Ireland. Ryan joined French outfit Racing 92 over the summer.

We’re giving away tickets to see Munster or Leinster in the Champions Cup this season.
