Simon Zebo On The Challenge That Awaits Munster In Facing Saracens
Simon Zebo is fully aware of the challenge that Munster face in taking on Saracens later this month, but is confident Munster’s defence will come out on top.
Glasgow missed a huge amount of tackles on Saracens in their quarter final clash on Sunday, but Zebo was hugely impressed by the European champions nonetheless.
“They were very impressive, they look clinical with their back play and their forwards offloading and interlinking.” Zebo said at Life Style Sports #MunsterRising media event at Thomond Park this afternoon.
“[They] look very dangerous with ball in hand.”
The Munster winger however is confident his team’s defence which has been a real strongpoint for the two-time European champions this season.
“Our defence play has been going quite well this season and we’ll back ourselves.”
“It will be a tough challenge obviously with the champions coming to Dublin but I think there’s a different mindset and a bit of a different culture at Munster. Obviously we might be underdogs but it won’t really matter we’re just gonna go and get our teeth stuck in and give it the best we have.
We asked him if Munster can use Ireland’s win over England at the Aviva to their favour and if that might play in the minds of Saracens, and while he hoped it would, he doubts it will come April 22nd.
“It would be nice if that played a part in their minds, but I doubt it would- at this level things like that wouldn’t effect the top end players, and they’ve got a lot of top end players”
“They’re just after winning a Grand Slam and a Championship back-to-back so I don’t think they’ll have much fear coming,”
