Simon Zebo Isn’t Impressed With The IRFU’s Decision To Let Donnacha Ryan Go

Donnacha Ryan has played his last game for Munster.

The towering lock unfortuntatly signed off with a disappointing PRO12 final defeat to Scarlets on Saturday. Munster were beaten by the better team on the day, but overall can be happy with the incredible progress they have made this season.

Ryan played a huger role in Munster’s resurgence this season with many labelling this season as one of the very best he has put down for both club and country. Despite this the IRFU have decided he is not worthy of a new central contract.

It’s a decision that has baffled many with his Ireland and Munster teammate Simon Zebo the latest to question the decision. Speaking to Colm Kinsella of the Limerick Leader, Zebo cannot understand why he is being let go by the IRFU.

“We will miss Donnacha (Ryan) a lot. He is very experienced, knowledgeable, puts his body on the line every time he goes out and wears a red jersey.
“It is mad for me to even fathom how he is being let leave, but that is just the way it is and we are going to have to try and manage without him.
“He is a great character off the pitch, but on the pitch he’s incredible.”

To be honest Simon, we’re not quite sure why either.
