RWC Tickets Plummet By Over 30 Percent As 6 Nations Interest Ends
Ireland, France, Wales & Scotland’s losses this weekend coupled with England’s early exit have had a had a drastic impact on ticket prices.
With thousands of category A and B tickets listed for much less than face value, fans of the Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Argentina can now sit close to the action for much less than they would have paid at the box office. In some cases prices have dropped by more than 30pc.
The face value of Category A tickets for the Argentina/Australia semi-final is €700 (£515) and prior to the weekend’s result, were available for €550. While many Irish fans would have been expected to fork out if Joe Schmidt’s reached the penultimate stage for the first time in their history, the price those same tickets has now dropped to €440 on viagogo.com
A Category D ticket for the match was retailing at €285 on Friday, but is now available for €190. Prices for the other semi-final between the New Zealand and the South Africa have dropped at a similar rate.
