RWC: Injury Update On Kearney, Earls & Henshaw
Ireland team manager Mick Kearney issued a fitness update from the team’s current training base, in Guildford, this morning on Rob Kearney, Keith Earls & Robbie Henshaw.
Fullback Rob Kearney will have a scan on his gluteal strain later today. Kearney injured himself while scoring a try in Ireland’s 44-10 victory over Romania.
The team manager eased worries of Irish supporters by stating that any issue with Kearney should not prove too debilitating.
While the Leinster back is not yet confirmed to start against Italy, his World Cup is not in doubt.
There was also some extremely positive news on Robbie Henshaw during Monday’s press briefing.
The 23-year-old, who has yet to feature at the tournament, will take a full part in training this week and is definitely in the selection mix for Sunday’s game at the Olympic Stadium.
Keith Earls is “doing well” after he was taken for a Head Injury Assessment during Sunday’s victory.
