Ronan O’Gara Issues Apology To Paul O’Connell

In an interview with The Irish Independent yesterday Ronan O’Gara laid out his coaching plans as best he could.

Three years into his time in the Top 14 with Parisian side Racing 92,  O’Gara believes he is in one of the toughest leagues in the world and still has a long way to go before he’s ready for the top job.

“I’m nowhere near ready [to be head coach]. I understand a lot of it, but I have no idea how to coach the attack game fluently yet.

“When you’re standing in front of Munster or Irish players, they spot a spoofer straight away. I’m still at the spoofing stage. I need to get it all on autopilot.”

O’Gara also mentioned that he would love to team-up with Paul O’Connell somewhere down the line in his coaching career, possibly at Munster.

“I talk to Paulie, Paulie will be an exceptionally good coach and it’s no secret of the two of ours that we want to team up. It’s about getting the right opportunity.”

It seems the comments were misinterpreted by some and ROG has come out today to clear things up.
