Rassie Erasmus Comments On Reports His Return To South Africa Is Imminent

Rassie Erasmus has played down reports that suggest his return to South Africa is a ‘done deal.’

The Munster Director of Rugby is said to have agreed a deal to return home on a four-year deal, but has insisted it’s just ‘speculation’ and no agreement has been reached.

Despite signing a three-year contract upon his appointment last summer, it is believed that Erasmus has the six-month break clause similar to the one Pat Lam has in his contract which has allowed him to sign a deal with Bristol.

“If that was the case I would tell you,” Erasmus told RTÉ Sport.
“It’s definitely not a done deal. It’s really just speculation. The moment there is something different I will tell everybody.
“It isn’t a distraction for the team. There’s a lot of talk like that but it isn’t something we discuss internally.
“The team has grown so much that we shouldn’t let stupid things distract us at this stage.”

Not the most convincing of answers once again.
