Keith Brierley has played his last match for Preston Grasshoppers after 52 seasons of rugby for the Lancashire club.
Affectionately known as ‘Dad’, the 71-year-old flanker played the full 80 minutes for the 6th XV in his final game at Lightfoot Lane against Blackpool 1st XV.
Described as a “living legend” at the club, Keith has played over 2,000 matches for the National Division Two team, starting out as a winger.
“I can go back years and years and remember the games I played in and the people I played against,” he said.
“That’s what will live with me – the camaraderie as much as anything else.”
