Predicting This Weekend’s Six Nations Results

six

After this past weekend’s games, this is trickier than you’d imagine.

Round two of the Six Nations gets underway this weekend, and if it’s anything like the first- we’re in for another cracking weekend of rugby.

Ireland kick of proceedings with a trip to Rome to take on Conor O’Shea’s Italy, before a mouth-watering clash between England and Wales. Sunday’s game between France and Scotland has just become a lot more interesting after this past weekend’s results, and should be an absolute belter.

How do we think this weekend will go? Have a look below.

Ireland vs Italy

Joe Schmidt’s men have a lot to work on after their opening round loss to Scotland. Expect a couple of changes, and a completely different Ireland side mentally. The players will be focused all week, and out to prove a point on Saturday. Italy showed against Wales on Sunday, that not much has changed. They’ll start well, but inevitably fall victims to their own decision making and stamina. Expect an Irish backlash and a bonus-point win

Prediction: Ireland +25

Wales vs England

This will be a really interesting clash, that could shape the tournament itself. England showed against France that injuries have hit them harder than initially expected. They looked very poor at times against a French side that could very well and probably should have won the game. It was a tale of two halves for Wales on the other hand. A poor first-half was followed up by a much better second. Sam Davies made a huge difference and the decision on whether to start him or Biggar make be taken away from Howley, with Biggar struggling with an injury. We’re backing Wales to pounce here on a weakened England team, that doesn’t seem to have that confidence they had last year. Home advantage is also key.

Prediction: Wales +3

France vs Scotland

The two surprise teams of the tournament so far. We knew Scotland were going to be dangerous, but who knew France still have performances like that still in them. Ireland exposed Scotland in the second-half, and while they’re style of play is exciting, and payed off massively, it will come back to haunt them. A home win is on the cards.

Prediction: France +5
