Robbie Henshaw will play his first Rugby World Cup game tomorrow, lining up alongside Keith Earls in the centre after recovering from a niggling injury.

Henshaw, however will have an old friend on his mind when he makes his World Cup debut.

He posted a touching message on Instagram today, following this morning’s Captain’s Run.

You are with me tomorrow brother.. 🙏

The message refers to Karl Ashe, a former school-mate of Henshaw at Marist College, who died suddenly [at the age of 16] in 2009.

The friends played for Marist College in the 2008 Connacht Schools Junior Cup – losing 8-5 to Sligo Grammar School.

We’re sure his old friend will be looking down on him tomorrow with a smile as he makes his debut on the biggest stage of them all.
