Paul O’Connell’s first coach outing is set to be in Ireland and not France as previously suggested.
According to Ruaidhri O’Connor in today’s Irish Independent, the IRFU have held talks with the former Ireland captain about taking a coaching role. Performance director David Nucifora said ignoring an individual such as O’Connell would be a ‘waste’.
No confirmation has been given as to whether it will be with the national side or one of the four provinces. Should it be with a province, it’s pretty safe to say we could see O’Connell back at Munster in some capacity a lot sooner than expected.
