Munster Star Emerges As Serious Doubt For PRO12 Semi-Final
Just as one halfback returns, Munster might be about to lose another.
Munster outhalf Tyler Bleyendaal has emerged as a serious doubt for their PRO12 semi-final clash with Ospreys on Saturday week. The Kiwi playmaker has been one of Munster’s standout players this season, recently winning their Player of the Year award.
Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus was on hand at the Guinness PRO12 awards in Dublin last night to collect his coach of the year award, but Bleyendaal was absent despite being named in the PRO12 Dream Team and being nominated for the Player’s Player of the Year award.
Erasmus revealed that Bleyendaal went for scans yesterday, explaining his absence.
“He’s gone for scans and stuff today [Sunday], that’s why he can’t be here, it’s serious enough that he’s had to go for scans,” Erasmus told RTE Sport
Asked if Bleyendaal was a doubt for the semi-final,” Erasmus replied:
“Yes, yes, yes, yes.”
The last thing Munster fans wanted to hear.
