Munster Respond To Reports Suggesting Rassie Erasmus Is Leaving Early

Who do we believe?

Munster have denied reports in South Africa that suggest he will leave the province on November 1. The southern province have found their replacement in new head coach Johann van Grann, but he will not arrive until mid-November.

A handover period is expected, with Erasmus slated to take us his new role on December 31. He has however, previously stated he could leave earlier if a replacement was in place.

A spokesperson for the province today told Independent.ie,

“There is nothing different to report from our side, it remains the case that Rassie and Johann will have a handover period subject to the work permit being obtained, which we hope will be by mid-November”.

South African outlet Netwerk24.com say Erasmus will leave on October 31.

“Rassie will start working at SA Rugby on 1 November,” his lawyer, Frikkie Erasmus, told Netwerk24.

With the way this whole thing has played out, it’s difficult to decide who we believe.
