Referee’s don’t come much better than this.
Nigel Owens will referee Munster and Leinster’s top of the table clash in the PRO12 on St. Stephen’s Day. The game is set to break the PRO12 attendance record with 26,200 fans set to be at the game in Thomond Park.
The former World Rugby Referee of the Year will take charge of the all important inter-pro clash between the two provinces. Arguably the best official in world rugby, Owens has become widely renowned for his no nonsense attitude and hilarious one-liners.
Munster have no fresh injury concerns heading into the game with New Zealander Francis Saili available after a lengthy lay-off. Niall Scannell picked up a niggle against Tigers and will not train today but is expected to feature later in the week.
Leinster look set to be without Johnny Sexton once again and will be without Joey Carberry as he continues his rehab.
