Scrumhalf Gerry Hurley has been given a one year training contract with Munster Rugby. Hurley who graduated from the Munster Rugby Academy in 2008 made his first Munster senior appearance when lining out against USA in August ’07, and was capped five times that season including a Heineken Cup debut against Clermont.
This year Gerry captained his club side Cork Constitution to an All-Ireland Bateman Cup title, and he also captained the Ireland Club XV side against England Counties and Scotland Clubs.
Gerry has definitely proved himself over the last 2 years with what he can do on the pitch and with the lack of scrum-halves in the Munster camp at the moment, he has been given a chance to prove himself on the big stage again.
