More Revelations On England’s Pursuit Of Joe Schmidt

Joe Schmidt may have not have been the man to guide Ireland to their first ever World Cup semi-final, but nevertheless it seems the RFU are willing to pay a lot of money to pry him away from the Irish set up.

Midi Olimpique correspondent Gavin Mortimer today revealed that apparently the RFU are willing to pay the IRFU £1.5m to prise him away from his two year contract with Ireland.

In late 2011, England reacted to their quarter-final exit by making an internal appointment, hiring Stuart Lancaster, initially on a temporary basis. By contrast, their reaction to this World Cup shambles seems to be to go for a big time coach with a big reputation.
