Head coach Eddie Jones has been dealt a major blow today, as Maro Itoje will not feature in any of England’s November internationals.
The Saracens lock fractured his hand, and will be out of action for six weeks.
England face South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia next month and will no have to do so without one of their key men.
Itoje has been a revelation for England and Saracens since he first broke onto the scene last year. The young lock has been touted as a future England captain and a shoe-in for next year’s Lions tour of New Zealand.
Saracens have been linked with a move for South African lock, Eben Etzebeth that hasn’t materialised over the last week, but in the wake of this news, may renew interest in the towering Springbok.
