Ireland Have Received A Massive Boost Ahead Of Their Six Nations Clash With England

Just what the doctor ordered… if you’re Irish.

Billy Vunipola has effectively ruled himself out of making a return against Ireland for the final round of the Six Nations on March 18th.

The bruising back-row was the man of the match when the two met in last year’s Six Nations, and his absence will come as a huge boost for Ireland as they hope to derail England’s Grand Slam challenge.

Jones was under the impression last week that Vunipola would at least make the bench for the all important clash, but they player has revealed himself today that it’s unlikely.

Speaking to The Sun, Vunipola said he has a while to go yet.

“I have still got a while to go – hopefully I will be running soon,” Vunipola said.
“I think it’ll be two or three weeks so I probably won’t make the Ireland game.”

Let’s hope both sides can make it to the final day still in contention for the title. What a game that would be.
