Bowe sustained a left ankle fracture in the Ireland game against Wales on Friday and underwent surgery on Tuesday to stabilise the fracture. The experienced international is expected to be sidelined for 8-12 weeks.
Meanwhile South African number eight Coetzee sustained a significant left knee injury in Ulster’s game against Zebre on Saturday. He will undergo exploratory surgery next week to fully ascertain the extent of the injury.
Ulster currently sit 4th in the PRO12 table after a recent run of good form and will be hoping this latest setback won’t pour cold water on their form.
