Huge Boost For Ireland Ahead Of Today’s Final RWC 2023 Presentation
Ready for the world.
Ireland have called on to their most-capped player Brian O’Driscoll, women’s captain Niamh Briggs, Bod Geldof and U2 as they get set to give their final bid presentation for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in London today.
Ireland will present their case to governing body World Ruby this afternoon with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD, chairman of the oversight board Dick Spring, IRFU CEO Philip Browne, O’Driscoll and Niamh Briggs all attending.

It’s apparently set to be a two-way battle between Ireland and France, but the latter’s bid has once again become the subject of controversy with French president Emmanuel Macron refusing to record a video in support of the bid, reneging on an original plan to do so.
It’s a huge boost for Ireland who as mentioned will have Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in attendance. With Macron not in attendance, and refusing to even show his support in a video message, World Rugby will no doubt begin to question France’s bid.
