Just two more games remain.
Munster, Clermont and Saracens all booked home quarter finals over the weekend, with Leinster also all but guaranteed one too unless Connacht can somehow pull off a 62 point+ win over Toulouse this afternoon.
Munster’s 22-10 victory over Racing in Thomond Park yesterday evening was enough to take them above holders Saracens and into second seed overall, with a possible 3rd Champions Cup tie against Glasgow awaiting them in the knockout stages.
Leinster’s fourth place finished should be confirmed later today, with a quarter final match-up at the Aviva versus Premiership side Wasps a likely scenario. Thanks to the weekend’s proceeding’s so far, Pat Lam’s Connacht now only need a losing bonus-point to book their spot in the quarter final.
A Toulouse win could see them creep into qualification and potentially set up a tie with Leinster, but we’re banking on Pat Lam’s men to do the job today and get the required losing bonus-point.
A win for Pat Lam’s men would mean they avoid holders Saracens, and instead face Irish rivals Leinster. A tough draw for Connacht no matter what, but if they make the knockout stages, we don’t think they’ll be bothered too much.
