Springbok star Francois Hougaard has given up his Olympic bronze medal in a heartwarming gesture.
The scrumhalf decided to give his medal to injured teammate Seabalo Senalta after he was forced out of South Africa’s quarter final and third place playoff through injury.
Senalta has been one of the Blitzbokke’s stars since 2013 and was stangely deemed ineligible for a medal due to the fact he was not included in the match day 12-man squad for the two playoff games, despite the fact that he had played in all of South Africa’s group stage games.
Hougaard felt this was very unfair and stepped up with the kind gesture. Fair play lad.
