Former Munster and Ireland doctor, Eanna Falvey has been added to the British & Irish Lions team

Dr. Falvey has been  appointed the head of the British and Irish Lions medical team that heads to New Zealand this summer to take on the mighty All Blacks.

He served as Munster Rugby’s doctor for many years and also worked with the Irish Rugby team from 2009 – 2015. Falvey will be going on his second successive Lions tour, having served as a member of the 2013 medical team.

Dr. Falvey has over 15 years experience in the business, working with a number of elite athletes, across a multitude of sports. Falvey left his position as the Ireland national team doctor back in December, after six years in the role.

Lions head coach, Warren Gatland has said he is delighted with the appointments.

“Rhodri, Paul and Eanna have a lot of Lions experience, including being part of a winning team in 2013 and they know what is required for us to be successful in New Zealand.

They will bring a wealth of knowledge and skill to their roles and I know they will fit well into the environment we are trying to create.”
