Former Ireland & Munster Star Lands Coaching Role

Exciting times ahead.

Former Munster and Ireland centre James Downey has landed himself an exciting coaching role as the new backs coach for Clontarf. Downey retired at the the end of the 2015/16 season after a 13-year professional career during which he represented seven different clubs across Ireland, England, Scotland and Italy.

Downey worked as a player-coach with Monkstown last season and replaces the long-serving Simon Broughton as backs coach. The New Zealander is taking up an elite player development role with Leinster.
