Northampton are believed to be interested in signing Ospreys and Wales playmaker Dan Biggar.

The Premiership side have George North on their books already after luring him from Wales following the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour. It now seems Biggar is the next big name Welshman on their wish list.

The Saints are set to lose JJ Hanrahan at the end of the season to Munster, leaving them short of options at ten. They announced the signing of Wallaby international Rob Horne today and also have Louis Picamoles on their books, showing their not afraid to spend big on talent.

A Wales Online source has indicated Saints are prepared to make Biggar “an offer he can’t refuse.” A huge stumbling block however would be the fact that he is on a dual contract funded 60 percent by the WRU and 40 percent by the Ospreys. that runs until 2018 with the option of a further year.

The WRU are believed to not be interesting in selling his contract, although they did release George North back in 2013, so you never know.
