Eddie O’Sullivan’s Brilliant Reason For Not Applying For The Connacht Job
“This time I decided to keep my powder dry.”
Connacht revealed yesterday that Chiefs assistant coach Kieran Keane is the man that will replace Pat Lam at the Sportsground next season.
The highly respected and experienced Kiwi has signed a three-year deal with the province and is seen as a perfect replacement for Lam, as his side’s have been know to play a similar style of rugby to the former Samoa captain.
Former Ireland boss Eddie O’Sullivan put his name in the hat for the post last time round in 2012 before Lam was appointed, but opted to stay out of the running this time round and his reasoning is as honest as you’ll get.
“I applied last time, obviously and I didn’t get interviewed, so this time I decided to keep my powder dry.”
A brilliant response to a rather striking question posed to him on Against The Head last night. At least he’s honest.
