Dan Carter knows a thing or two about the All Blacks and the British & Irish Lions.

The former World Player of the Year is widely regarded as one of the best tens the game has ever seen and enjoyed a long an illustrious career with the All Blacks, winning many accolades, including two Rugby World Cups.

He was also part of the All Blacks set-up that demolished the Lions 3-0 back in 2005, so when he gives you advice, you listen. The Racing 92 outhalf has been speaking to Daily Mail, and he reckons he knows who should start at ten for the Lions this summer.

Carter claims Owen Farrell should be Warren Gatland’s first-choice outhalf in New Zealand but fears he may not get a fair trial. Carter says Farrell’s prospects would be boosted if Eddie Jones stopped picking him at centre.

‘Owen Farrell’s been in fantastic form for a year or two and he would be my pick at fly-half,’ said Carter. ‘He’s worked out a good partnership with George Ford for England.

‘Warren Gatland’s been pretty open that selection will come down to form and the Six Nations is the perfect platform. But you could question the fact Farrell’s been playing 12 for England. That might work against him

What do you think? Should Jones start playing Farrell at ten and should start there for the Lions this summer?
