Dan Carter & Ali Williams could be set to save London Welsh

The former All Blacks duo are part of a New Zealand consortium who are set to step in and save the struggling former English Premiership side.

The English Championship side have struggled for some time, racking up monstrous debts close to €3 million, while chasing a spot back in the Premiership with England’s elite clubs.

The club was also liquidated late last year with players told to seek other employment three weeks before Christmas.

Sources suggest that both former All Blacks want to get involved in a business that they can contribute some value to and will likely be used to attract players to the club. When contacted, the group that represent both Carter and Williams were yet to respond for comment.

Carter and Williams currently play together for Racing 92 in France’s Top 14 competition but have history in undertaking ventures off the rugby field together.

Along with former All Black captain Richie McCaw, all three were part-shareholders in a bottled water company Water for Everyone.
