CJ Stander Posts Stirring Message Following Heartbreaking Defeat To Saracens
This is not the end, but only a chapter in our story.
Munster’s European dream came to an abrupt end on Saturday with defending champions Saracens coming out on top at the Aviva.
Almost 50,000 Munster fans descended upon Dublin in a sea of red, but it was not enough to get their province over the line, who were simply beaten by the better side.
For a lot of the players on the pitch Saturday, it was their first crack at a European semi-final, and they will no doubt have learned an awful lot from the experience. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but it’s not the end of the road for this current crop of players.
CJ Stander battled through a ankle injury on Saturday to start the game. While he was clearly not 100%, there’s absolutely now way he was missing the all-important clash. The back-row posted a stirring message yesterday, thanking the supporters, letting them know the story lives on.
A picture worth a thousand words. 80 minutes on the clock with a brutally honest scoreboard … what stands out to me, the @munster_rugby supporters! Without a doubt THE best rugby supporters in the world… Thank you to every one who came out to support us yesterday. This is not the end, but only a chapter in our story! #redwave #munsterrugby #SUAF
