CJ Stander Broke A Six Nations Record This Year & It Won’t Surprise You One Bit
Ball carrying machine.
CJ Stander has proved time and time again that he is the real deal, and this year’s Six Nations was no different. The Munster man’s exponential rise continues, and he looks set to be rewarded with a spot on the plane to New Zealand with the Lions.
It’s a remarkable turnaround for a man who thought his rugby career was over when he was told he’s ‘too small’ the Springboks. Even when he first arrived at Munster he faced an uphill task, struggling to break into the starting line-up in his first couple of seasons.
Stander stuck at it however and has developed into one of the best back-row forwards in the world right now. It’s no surprise he’s been nominated for Six Nations Player of the Tournament and European Player of the Year.
It’s also no wonder he’s broken a few records along the way and none quite sum him up quite like this one. Stander made 104 carries in this year’s Six Nations, the most ever in an edition of the tournament. Incredibly he also occupies third on that list also for his debut Six Nations last year. Machine.
