Wales international James Hook will make a stunning return to Ospreys next season.

Hook has signed a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium and will leave Premiership Gloucester at the end of the season. The 31-year-old made more than 100 appearances for the Ospreys before switching to Perpignan in 2011.

He then joined Gloucester in 2014 but has since seen his Wales career put on halt. Other Welsh regions were also thought to have been interested in signing the utility back, along with Aviva Premiership side Bath.

I’m delighted to be going back home next summer.” Hook said

“It’s been fantastic to go away to new places and get unbelievable experiences in England and France with two great clubs. But I’m coming home to a team that’s going places, with good coaches who I know well and a quality squad with some world-class players and really exciting young talent.

“It’s good for me personally and as a rugby player, and it’s the right thing for my family, to be coming home.”

“I always planned or hoped that I’d come back but six years is a long time,” said Hook.

“A lot has changed in that time and anything could have happened. I’m grateful, and fortunate, that I’m getting this opportunity.”

What do you think of the move? Will Hook be able for force his way back into the Wales team now that he’s back home?
