We’re playing for someone special upstairs.

Munster secured an emphatic win and a bonus-point over Racing 92 today as they paid homage to Anthony Foley in their return to Paris. Simon Zebo grabbed his 50th try for Munster, becoming the only player to do so in a special game at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir.

Zebo crossed first before Stander, Conway and Niall Scannell all crossed the line, ensuring Munster’s return to Paris was a special one. They now head into the clash with Glasgow next week knowing a win will almost guarantee a home quarter final.

Speaking about his achievement and the occasion today, Simon Zebo told Sky Sports:

“There is a lot of emotion gone into this fixture. We’ve got a bit of momentum and we’re playing for someone special upstairs. Hopefully it continues.

“It’s a nice milestone to achieve but obviously I wouldn’t be able to do it without my teammates behind me.”

Anthony’s son, Tony Foley set up a Facebook page asking people to go to Mass for 8 Sundays staring on his father’s birthday back in October. The campaign was a huge success and following the game, the page posted this heartwarming message in response to Simon Zebo’s comments.
