Siting the year out.
All Blacks versatile back Israel Dagg will miss the rest of New Zealand’s season after aggravating his longstanding knee injury.
The good news however, is Dagg does not require surgery, but will not play again until 2018 as he looks to get himself in fighting shape ahead of the new season. Dagg already had surgery on his knee back in March, and successfully made a return against the British & Irish Lions.
This latest move is thought to be a precaution more than anything, with the All Blacks well stocked in the back three and flying in the Rugby Championship after a record win over the Springboks this past weekend to remain unbeaten.
Dagg joins props Owen Franks (Achilles tendon), Joe Moody (dislocated shoulder) and utility back Jordie Barrett (shoulder) on the rehab list.
