All Blacks Star Names Irishman As Most Impressive Lion On Tour So Far
The Tullow tank is back.
All Blacks star Jerome Kaino has named Sean O’Brien as the Lions star that has impressed him most on tour so far. The Irish back-row has impressed in his two starts against the Crusaders and Maori All Blacks and looks set to start the first Test.
O’Brien is set to keep tour captain Sam Warburton out of the team, with Kaino seriously impressed with the Lions back-row combination of O’Brien, O’Mahony and Toby Faletau.
They are probably some of the form loose forwards of the last couple of years,” Kaino said.
“O’Brien was huge at the weekend and against the Crusaders. It’s not just the tight stuff, he gets around the park as well.
“Individually, I think they are up there with some of the best, and seeing their combinations the last couple of weeks definitely makes them a threat.
“You always want to measure yourself against the best, and the way the northern hemisphere teams have been playing for the last couple of years, especially in the forwards, has definitely set standards.”
