Can Ireland do it again?

Ireland host the All Blacks this weekend in a return fixture following their history making win in Chicago. Ireland shocked the world that day, running in five tries, on the way to a memorable 40-29 win.

Ireland were as high as 20/1 with some bookies before the game as they looked to beat the All Blacks for the first time in 111 years. Irish sport has flourished in recent weeks with the football team going on to claim a famous win over Austria this past weekend and Conor McGregor becoming the first ever simultaneous two-weight world champion in the UFC.

The rugby team also racked up another important win since the All Blacks victory, routing Canada in the Aviva with a completely different starting line-up to the one that famously won in Soldier Field. Confidence is high, and Steve Hansen knows it.

‘What this week of all weeks has taught us; what Conor Murray, Conor McGregor and James McClean have taught us is that there is no longer any one reason to say that it cannot be done.” Hansen said

Not anymore there’s not.’

“We know the challenge we face from Ireland will again be massive and we are going into the game as the underdogs,”

“They’ll be full of confidence and committed to delivering on their home patch.”

Can Joe Schmidt’s men keep this amazing Irish run going? We certainly hope so, and you can be damn sure we wouldn’t bet against it.
